Difference between text and text area checkpoint:

 1. Text area checkpoint can be applied on web based applications while text area checkpoints can't be applied on the web applications.

    They both are same thing. My intent is to say that text checkpoint can be applied on web based application while the text area checkpoints can't be.

Eval is used for evaluating the syntax while execute and execute global are used for executing the statements. Lets talk about the Eval & Execute first.
